It was only a few years ago that Matt Ratzloff was on the diamond at Dartts Park. The 2013 Owatonna grad is battling leukemia in Rochester.

Depending on his health, he may appear at Thursday's "Cancer, Get Out of Here!" fundraising night at the Owatonna High School baseball game versus Faribault. A limited number of special t-shirts will be available at the gate, with money benefiting Ratzloff and his family.

KDHL Radio AM 920 will present Thursday's game on air and online via the Radiopup app and kdhlradio.com.

Ratzloff also played hockey at OHS. Various fundraising events took place during the season and members of this year's team are planning to participate in the From the Heart Run May 6 in Owatonna. The run/walk raises money for several local families dealing with cancer. Find the registration page here.

Also on Thursday's schedule, Owatonna softball plays at Faribault at 5PM on KRFO AM 1390. The Falcons are unbeaten, according to the Big Nine Conference website. Sophomore pitcher McKayla Armbruster tossed a perfect game against Northfield last week and spoke about it with KDHL's Gordy Kosfeld about it.

Huskies boys tennis hosts the Falcons on Thursday afternoon. The boys golfers are scheduled to play at Alexandria and the girls host Faribault.

The area baseball schedule shows NRHEG at Blooming Prairie, Medford at WEM and Cannon Falls at Triton. In softball Thursday, Blooming Prairie is at NRHEG, WEM plays at Medford and Triton hosts Kenyon-Wanamingo.
