Owatonna High School wrestlers Peyton Robb and Brandon Moen won state titles in 2016, just the second time in school history that OHS had multiple champions.

Robb captured his second straight state title as a sophomore, while Moen won his first as a junior last winter. Both have committed to Division 1 schools. Robb signed with South Dakota State and Moen committed to Eastern Michigan. Junior Tanner Cole took third place. Griffin Thorn, Bryce Goodwin and Cade King all qualified for state as well.

OHS senior gymnast Steph Kretlow came home with silver in the vault. She tied for first place but settled for runner-up honors on criteria. She was also part of a bronze-medal finish in the 4x200 at the state track meet with Sydney Schultz, Karissa Gregory and Margo Achterkirch.

Huskies' senior Jacob Johnson took silver in the 110 hurdles and was fourth in the 300 hurdles.

Other individual state qualifiers for Owatonna in 2016 included Braydon Kubat in cross country and Alison An in diving.

Owatonna's senior athletes of the year for 2016 were Kretlow and Alec Holcomb.

Two recent OHS grads won the Owatonna City Open golf tournament this year. Ted Urch and Kenzie Soukup, both of the class of 2014, won the two-day, two-course event.
