Fifth-seeded Farmington scored a 54-48 win over No. 4 Owatonna on Wednesday night, ending the Huskies' season.

The Tigers had a 13-2 run that bridged halftime, which included a put-back basketball at the first-half horn. The surge gave Farmington (13-14) a 12-point lead. Owatonna (18-9) fought back to tie the game at 48-48 with 2:43 remaining. Owatonna didn't score another point.

The Huskies struggled shooting on their home floor. OHS went 4-for-13 from the free throw line on the night and only shot about 30 percent in the second half. Unofficially, the Huskies were 2-for-11 on three-point attempts.

The Tigers grabbed a couple of crucial rebounds late in the game. Farmington only made seven field goals and eight free throws in the second half. Each team scored 22 points in the second half. Farmington led 32-26 at halftime.

Sydney Schultz had 11 points. Ahna Stelter scored 10. Lexi Langeland added nine. Seniors on the OHS roster include Langeland, Megan Peglow, Ari Buck, Caitlin Anderson and Maddie Seykora.

Farmington had four players in the double figures. Ellie Clayton led the way with 15. Molly Mogensen and Sydney Blanton scored 11 each. Kaitlin Winston had 10 and at least a couple of blocks.

Farmington will face South Suburban Conference rival Lakeville North on Saturday at 6:30PM at the Mayo Civic Center in the Section 1AAAA semifinals. Rochester Mayo and Lakeville South will also play Saturday.
