Packers Sweep Huskies; Awesome Blossom Reaches 1,000 Points

Austin swept Owatonna in Big Nine basketball Tuesday. Blooming Prairie senior Anthony Nelson reached 1,000 career points during a loss to NRHEG.

The Owatonna boys basketball team trailed by 15 at the half at Austin, but rallied in the second half to put a scare into the top 10-ranked Packers, who held on for the 73-66 win. OHS travels to Rochester Century on Friday night.

The OHS girls played a back-and-forth game with the Packers with Austin coming out on top 59-57. The Huskies host Century on Friday night.

Blooming Prairie senior Anthony Nelson entered play Tuesday with 999 points. He scored his milestone point early in the game and had 19 overall, but NRHEG won the game 64-36. The Awesome Blossoms play at Kenyon-Wanamingo on Thursday.
