The Owatonna girls' basketball team closed out their home regular season at 11-0 with a 64-48 win over Faribault Tuesday at the OHS gym. Some of the best moves on the night came from the senior players' moms, who presented a halftime dance routine that included dribbling with basketballs.

The game started slowly for Owatonna with several turnovers before scoring their first points. But when the Huskies started scoring they went on an 11-0 run and led the rest of the night. OHS didn't give up a field goal to the Falcons for the first ten minutes of the game and led 30-20 at the half.

Owatonna's lead was cut to five a couple of times early in the second half. OHS pulled away by going 11-for-12 from the free throw line and strong shooting from the floor after halftime. Every player on the OHS roster played, including all nine seniors. Sydney Schultz (21 points), Jenna Zeman (17), Ahna Stelter (8) Lexi Falken (5), Julia Haarstad (4), Alexa Sommers (4), Bria Wachowiak (3), Hannah Gebur (2) and Stephanie Liebl played their final home regular season game. Managers Nick Hagen and Sheldon Jensen are also seniors.

The Huskies (19-6, 18-3 Big Nine) should host a playoff game Wednesday, February 28. They close the regular season at Austin Friday night at 7:30PM on Kat Kountry 105FM. Faribault (12-12, 11-10) was led by Grace Amacher's 21 points. The Falcons go to Waseca Thursday.

The Owatonna boys won at Faribault Tuesday 85-44. Nolan Malo scored 29, including five three-pointers. Alex Raichle had 12 and Dalton Kubista scored 11. OHS out rebounded Faribault 33-20 and forced 21 turnovers. The Huskies led 41-25 at the half. Owatonna's junior varsity won 61-32. The b-squad won 48-42. The Huskies host Big Nine-leading Austin Friday night at 7:30PM on KRFO AM1390. The Packers only loss came against Owatonna.
