Owatonna High School wrestling opened its season a pair of individual champions at the Dick Shiels Tournament at Faribault Saturday, November 30. Six other Huskies finished in second or third place as OHS finished third in the overall standings in the ten-team event.

Second-ranked Cael Robb captured the 106-pound title with a 3-0 record and one pin. Isaiah Noeldner went 3-0 on the day with a pair of pins. Noeldner has come back from a knee injury last season that cost him most of the high school football season this fall.

Third-rated Landen Johnson finished second at 152 pounds with a 3-1 record. Each win was by pin. Jerez Autridge also was second with a 2-1 record at 145 pounds.

Third place finishers included seventh-ranked Kanin Hable with a 3-1 record at 126 pounds, Jacob Reinardy who went 3-1 at 138 pounds with two pins and a tech fall, Quincey Price at 195 pounds with a 3-1 record and three pins, and Luke Effertz who was 1-1 with a pin at 220 pounds.

Owen Thorn finished fourth at 120 pounds, Chase Dallman was fourth at 132 pounds, and Jake Gronli took fifth at 113 pounds. Andrew Nirk, Matt Seykora, and Ethan Stockwell rounded out the Huskies varsity lineup.

In the team standings No. 2 ranked Stillwater Area won the meet with 256.5 points. Sixth-rated Northfield, who is also a Section 1AAA opponent of the Huskies, was second with 216 points. OHS was third with 200.5. Tri-City United was fourth with Faribault fifth. Owatonna opens Big Nine action Thursday at Winona with coverage on AM 1390 KRFO and the KRFO app.

NRHEG finished ninth in the event with fifth-place finishers Nikolas Petsinger at 120, Thor Routh at 160, and Conner Okland. The Panthers host WEM/JWP and Pine Island Thursday, December 5 in New Richland.
