Owatonna Gymnastics Wins First Section Championship

The historic season continued for the Owatonna gymnastics team Friday night, capturing their first section championship and earning a trip to the state meet.

The Huskies scored 146.9 to win the Section 1AA at the OHS gym. They advance to the state meet at the University of Minnesota Sports Pavilion on Friday, February 19. The AA team competition begins at 6PM.

The Huskies set a school record earlier this season and won the Big Nine championship last Saturday. Owatonna coach Tom Smith won the section coach of the year honor Friday less than a week after winning the conference honor.
