Owatonna Girls Lacrosse Blanks Century to Stay Unbeaten in Big Nine
The Owatonna girls lacrosse team dominated Rochester Century 14-0 in blustery conditions Thursday to improve to 4-0 in the Big Nine and 5-2 overall.
Owatonna, the defending conference champs, have outscored their league opponents 60-12 this season. OHS hosts Rochester John Marshall on Tuesday at the high school field at 7:15PM.
The Owatonna boys lacrosse squad topped Century 9-4 Thursday at home. The Huskies are 3-1 in the Big Nine and 3-2 overall. OHS hosts Duluth Denfeld on Saturday at 3PM and plays at Rochester JM on Monday at 7:30PM in a game that will be broadcast on KRFO AM 1390.
Owatonna's girls golf team also played in the sub-40 degree weather Thursday, finishing third at a conference triangular at Willingers in Northfield. The Raiders had the low team score of 356, Winona shot 369 and Owatonna had 473. Ally Lenz led the Huskies with 103. Marie Otterson shot 111.
Several OHS events were postponed by the weather. Huskies baseball against Rochester Mayo will be made up May 15, softball at Mayo is rescheduled for May 10 and the boys tennis match at Albert Lea is now set for May 8. A boys track meet at Lakeville South was canceled Thursday.
The Hamline elite track meet is this weekend. Owatonna's Derik Elstad qualified in the shot put and Triton's Courtney West will run the 1,600 and 3,200.
