Owatonna filled a highlight reel with dazzling plays while building a massive first half lead in their 55-13 win over New Prague Wednesday to close out an 8-0 regular season, the fifth unbeaten regular season in school history. The defending state champion Huskies will open the playoffs at home Saturday, October 27.

Jason Williamson had three touchdown runs in the first quarter, shedding, knocking over, hurdling and weaving past defenders along the way. Williamson had scoring runs of 41, 56 and 53 yards while accumulating 178 yards on just five carries for the night. The Huskies led 41-0 by the end of the first quarter.

Ethan Walter took a pair short Brayden Truelson passes to the house on impressive touchdown scampers. Matt Williams showed off some nice athleticism with two touchdown catches from Trueslon. Williams made a couple of nice moves to score on a 55-yard catch and run and grabbed a one-handed strike in the end zone to end the Huskies scoring on the night late in the second quarter.

OHS out gained New Prague 434 yards to 88 in the first half. The Trojans threw five interceptions and at least four fumbles, losing one of them. Isaac Oppegard had two picks. Jake Miller and Walter also secured interceptions. Dalten Wincell intercepted a two-point conversion attempt.

In other Big Southeast games, Century blanked Northfield 17-0, Rochester Mayo edged John Marshall 7-0, Mankato East beat Faribault 30-16, Winona topped Austin 20-16 and Mankato West hammered Red Wing 67-0.
