The Owatonna boys basketball team prevailed in a tight game with Faribault 64-61. The OHS girls saw big lead evaporate, but won their game as well 64-55.

On the boys side, it was a close game throughout at the Owatonna gym. OHS led 36-34 at the half and Faribault missed a three-point attempt at the game-ending buzzer that would have tied the game. Jay Sullivan, Alex Raichle and Dalton Kubista each scored 15 points in the 64-61 win.

In the girls contest at Faribault, Owatonna shot well early and built a 17-point lead. The Falcons got within 11 by halftime and started the second half on a 9-0 lead to pull within 40-35. A short time later Faribault went on a 10-2 burst to get their only lead of the game. The Huskies got some fast break points late to close out the 64-55 win. Sydney Schultz scored 22 points and moved to No. 5 on the all-time scoring list in OHS girls basketball history by passing Beth Peterson and Sarah McCann in career points.

The Owatonna girls junior varsity team scored an impressive rally. After trailing 25-4 at the half, the Huskies rallied to win 58-52 in overtime.
