Owatonna baseball had one of their closer calls of the season, winning 9-5 at Austin Thursday in a game shortened to six innings due to rain and wet field conditions. OHS built a 6-0 lead. The Packers drew within 6-5 before the Huskies added some insurance to improve to 7-0 overall and 5-0 in the Big Nine. Owatonna's average margin of victory is six runs.

Abe Havelka and Noah Budach handled the pitching. Parker Westphal provided a pair of hits. OHS goes to St. Cloud to play games Friday and Saturday.

Triton rallied for a 6-4 win at Goodhue to improve to 5-1 on the season. The Cobras scored five runs in the top of the seventh. Jacob Monson delivered the go-ahead, two-run double. Blooming Prairie outlasted United South Central 13-11 Thursday. Medford topped Kenyon-Wanamingo 9-4. Maple River downed NRHEG 7-3.

Owatonna softball clobbered Austin Thursday at Morehouse Park 14-1. Kaitlyn Madole swung a big bat again, hitting a grand slam and driving in seven runs, which ties a school record for RBI with Ellie Rohman, who set the mark against Northfield in 2016. Madole hit two homers and a triple with five RBI Tuesday at Rochester Century in a game that was suspended by lightning and will be completed on Monday. The Huskies lead 6-5 in the fifth inning.
