Owatonna High School gymnastics, girls hockey and wrestling remain ranked in the latest polls.

Owatonna's gymnastics team recently has set numerous school records, but slipped in the AA rankings from second to third. Roseville Area, with an average score of 147.467, is top-ranked. St. Cloud Tech / Cathedral (147.350) is second with Owatonna (146.775) rated third. The Huskies host the Big Nine Conference meet Saturday, February 6, at 1PM at the OHS gym. Owatonna will also host the Section 1AA meet on Friday, February 12. Section rivals Farmington and Rochester Century are also ranked.

Entering the girls hockey playoffs, OHS holds on to the No. 16A position in the Let's Play Hockey poll. Other Section 1A teams ranked include No. 9 Red Wing, No. 17 Northfield and No. 19 Faribault. In the AA rankings, Dodge County is No. 14 entering the postseason. The Wildcats are the No. 2 seed in the section behind No. 12AA Lakeville South. Hill-Murray is No. 1AA and Breck is tops in class A.

In boys hockey only one Big Nine team is ranked, Northfield at No. 17A. Owatonna will host the Raiders at 7PM Thursday, February 4, at the Four Seasons Centre on KRFO AM 1390. Northfield outscored Owatonna 9-6 on January 5. Hermantown is No. 1 in Class A. Section 1AA teams Lakeville North and Lakeville South are ranked eighth and 20th, respectively. Farmington, who has a pair of wins over the Panthers this season, dropped out of the poll. Benilde-St. Margaret's is No. 1AA.

Boys basketball highlights around southern Minnesota include four Big Nine teams in the rankings. Rochester JM is No. 9AAAA. Red Wing is No. 1AAA. Austin is No. 4AAA and Northfield is No. 10AAA. Regional AA teams ranked include Lake City at No. 4, WEM is No. 8 and Maple River is No 9.

In girls basketball, Rochester Mayo is No. 9AAAA. Section 1AAA teams Winona, Kasson-Mantorville and Byron are all top 10-rated. Plainview-Elgin-Millville leads the AA poll. Goodhue is No. 1A.

The latest wrestling rankings were released January 29. Owatonna is No. 12AAA. Section opponent Farmington is ranked fifth. Apple Valley is No. 1AAA. Owatonna wrestles at Stillwater on Thursday and wraps up the regular season Friday at Faribault at 7PM on KRFO AM 1390. Kasson-Mantorville tops the AA poll with Albert Lea Area rated third. Kenyon-Wanamingo is second in the class A poll behind Minneota.
