If you're looking to play the role of a hero for a change, consider applying to the Owatonna Fire Department!

The fire department is looking for people ready to take on a challenge as part-time paid-on-call or resident firefighters. New hires will make $16.47 or $19.48 an hour, depending on the position they apply for. 

Applicants do NOT need previous firefighting training. For a full list of duties and requirements, head here.

The preliminary applications close on September 24th at 3 pm.

Once the application is accepted, a written and agility test follows on October 2nd with interviews the week of October 4th. Contingent offers and pre-employment screenings happen October 11th-October 31st. Lastly, recruit class training will (hopefully) begin on November 1st.

The Owatonna Fire Department is a great place to work and learn about firefighting. The department works to create a tight-knit community built on the foundation of trust and security.
