Young Owatonna Man Sentenced For Dealing Unregistered Guns

A 23-year-old Owatonna man has been sentenced to two-and-a-half years in prison, followed by three years of supervised release for having and dealing unregistered guns.

According to a report by Jim Maurice, news director for WJON, the Olmsted County Sheriff's Office received information that Dayton Sauke was selling narcotics and manufacturing and dealing guns without a license.

Last January, two undercover agents from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives met with Sauke and bought a privately made gun from him: which ultimately led to his arrest.

Sauke used his Snapchat account to entice buyers to purchase his privately made guns, or as he called them, "ghost guns" since they were "untraceable" and "throwaway murder pieces." The young man also made numerous threatening posts about killing law enforcement and politicians.
