Workshop For Dairy Farmers on Wednesday

A workshop entitled "Dairy Risk Management Strategies" will be held at the Rice County 4-H Building in Faribault on Wednesday, April 10 at 2pm. The workshop will compare the new Farm Bill's Dairy Margin Coverage and the Dairy Revenue Protection.

The two hour workshop will use guest speakers and spreadsheets in comparing the Dairy Margin Coverage with the old Margin Protection Program. The Dairy Revenue Protection program works similarly to a crop insurance product. The workshop will help farmers determine which dairy programs are best for them. Tools to help calculate your cost of production will be covered as well. This workshop is put on through the University of Minnesota Extension.
