Owatonna's girls soccer team left Austin with a 2-1 double-overtime victory Tuesday in a game moved up to an afternoon start to get in before severe weather struck southern Minnesota. The Huskies had many more scoring chances than the Packers but the contest was knotted at 1-1 after regulation.

Junior Grace Wolfe scored her team-leading seventh goal of the season from the top of the penalty box off a nice centering cross from freshman Abby Vetsch, her fourth assist. The game-winner came midway through the second overtime and earned Wolfe the TPS Insurance Player of the Game honor.

Ninth-grader Ezra Oien notched her sixth goal to open the scoring on a rush in the fourth minute. Austin evened the game on a corner kick by Hope Dudycha that curled into the net in the 39th minute.

Owatonna (7-4, 6-1 Big Nine) hosts Faribault Thursday, September 26 for parents' night with coverage on OwatonnaLive.com. Saturday the Huskies host Farmington at 11 am with the streaming service again on hand. Monday, September 30 the Huskies play a key conference match at Northfield with AM 1390 KRFO providing play-by-play.

Huskies boys soccer lost 4-1 to the top-ten rated Packers on Tuesday. OHS goes to Faribault Thursday. OHS girls tennis topped Mankato East 5-2 to improve to 12-5 overall and 8-2 in the Big Nine. The Huskies play at Mankato West Thursday and go to Rochester Saturday for the conference tournament.

OHS cross country had a strong showing Tuesday at the Bloomington Jefferson Invitational. The girls finished second in the 20-team field. The boys were third. The Huskies host the Ev Berg Meet on Thursday, October 3 at Brooktree Golf Course.

In area volleyball Tuesday, NRHEG outlasted Blooming Prairie 3-2, Medford swept Tri-City United 3-0, and Triton topped Hayfield 3-1.
