Suspect In Scott County Fatal Rollover Crash Arrested In Las Vegas
A September 14th crash claimed the life of16-year-old Ja'Mason Moffett and injured two others. Wednesday the Scott County Sheriff's office said an arrest has been made in connection with the case.
According to the release 20-year-old Khalil Malik Watson was arrested in Las Vegas, Nevada, on suspicion of one count of criminal vehicular homicide and two counts of criminal vehicular operation. Watson is being held in the Clark County Detention Center and is awaiting extradition back to Minnesota.
Potential charges are still pending. One of the teens involved in the crash had originally said she had been driving. She later said that Watson had been driving, which he admitted through several text messages, according to the release.
Back on September 14 Scott County sheriff's deputies were called to the area of 13800 block of Zumbro Avenue. Deputies believe the vehicle was traveling south on Zumbro Avenue when it left the road, hit a field approach driveway and overturned.
