Chuck Fuller's name already adorns the baseball field at Dartt's Park in Owatonna. Now the number of the late local baseball legend will be retired as well. He wore #17. The Aces will hold a ceremony to honor Fuller Friday, June 8 before their game against Waseca.

It's appropriate that the Braves are the opponent, as Fuller dueled Waseca's Tink Larson countless times. Larson will speak on Friday. The ceremony begins at 7 pm with the amateur game to follow at about 7:30 pm. The Owatonna Mayor's Office will offer a proclamation, the American Legion and VFW will present the flag and the Knights of Columbus men's choir will sing the National Anthem.

Fuller not only played and managed baseball in Owatonna, he also umpired many games, prepped the field and helped run the concession stand along with his wife. Fuller is a member of the Owatonna High School Athletic Hall of Fame for his baseball, basketball and community contributions. He is also a member of the Minnesota Amateur Baseball Hall of Fame and the Minnesota High School Coaches Association Hall of Fame.

Fuller passed away June 4, 2016, at the age of 76.
