Owatonna's summer baseball teams are all in the playoffs this weekend, hoping to extend their seasons and play into the month of August.

The Owatonna Aces will retire Charlie Fuller's No. 17 on Friday night.

The season ended for the Owatonna Aces amateur baseball team Sunday with a loss to Wanamingo. Meanwhile Waseca earned a trip to state with a victory over Stewartville-Racine.

In the summer of 2015 the Owatonna VFW and Aces baseball teams advanced to state. Each is hoping for a repeat appearance this summer.

You can see a baseball game most nights during the summer at Fuller Field at Dartt's Park. Wednesday the Owatonna Aces dropped a 3-2 pitcher's dual to Wanamingo.

After trailing early, Dodge County roared back following a rain delay to tie up their amateur baseball game at Dartt's Park, but Owatonna scored in the 10th for the 7-6 win.

Minnesota lost a baseball legend when Chuck Fuller passed away Saturday. The namesake of the diamond at Dartt's Park in Owatonna was 76.

Blue Earth rallied in the top of the ninth inning for two runs and beat Owatonna 4-3 in the state Class C baseball tournament in Watkins. The Pirates scored all of their runs with two outs.

The Aces are making their third straight appearance at the state tournament. They square off with Blue Earth on Saturday at 1:30PM in Watkins. Radio coverage will be on AM 1390 KRFO.

The Owatonna Aces clinched a state tournament berth on Sunday, but will still host action this coming weekend at Dartts Park while determining the top seed from Region 5C.
