Owatonna freshman Logan Norrid set a pair of school records and qualified for the state swimming meet in each event during the Section 1AA meet at the Rec Center in Rochester. It's Norrid's second straight trip to state in one of the events.

Norrid set the Owatonna school mark in the 100 butterfly with a time of 57.68 seconds which was good for a section championship. She also qualified for the 100 fly in 2018 and finished 12th in the state.

This year she also will swim the 200 IM at state after taking second in the sections in a school-record time of 2:10. There are three heats for the 200 IM and two heats for the 100 butterfly.

The state meet is Friday, November 15 and Saturday, November 16 at the Jean K. Freeman Aquatic Center at the University of Minnesota. The AA meet begins at 6 pm each night with preliminaries Friday and finals Saturday.

For those attending the meet, the Minnesota State High School League advises you allow for extra time to find parking as there other events happening on campus over the weekend as well. There are numerous ramps and lots nearby the swimming center.

Tickets are $10 for adults and students with sales beginning at 4:30 pm each afternoon. Spectators will sit in the gallery and are not allowed on the pool deck. Go to the high school league's website for information on watching the event via stream at no cost.
