Target announced they are again this year planning to hire about 70,000 workers for the holiday season in the stores and about 7,500 in the distribution centers.

All 1,800 stores will have hiring events on October 14 and 15. People also may apply online. Current employees will get first choice on extra holiday hours.

Last year during the fourth quarter, the Target teams accomplished some big jobs — serving more than 446 million guests at checkout, and fulfilling more than 1 million online Order Pickup and Ship from Store orders over the Black Friday weekend. And they helped millions of guests find the perfect gifts, home décor, menu items, and everything else they needed to make their holidays magic all throughout the season.

Target is based in Minneapolis and has been a fixture since the first Target store opened in Roseville in 1962.
