Triton's Sydney Gilliland has put her name into the team's record book in a couple of difference categories this season. The junior set an assist record in mid-December and tied a free throw mark early this month.

For her efforts, Gilliland is this week's H & R Block of Owatonna, Faribault and Lakeville "Stat Sheet Stuffer."

Gilliland dished out a school-record 15 assists December 18 in a 73-49 Cobras' win. Coach Melissa Young said, "She's just been doing a really nice job directing, kind of being the captain of the ship. She's very unselfish. Sometimes, I'm like, "Sydney shoot!"

"She's really got a talent of getting the ball in places where they can score. She'll lead post players...She'll drive and kick to our good three-point shooters...She's very good at reading."

Gilliland tied a school record with 12 made free throws in an 80-69 victory over NRHEG January 3.

The Cobras improved to 9-7 on Thursday, January 10 with a big come-from-behind rally to beat Houston 67-65 after trailing by as many as 23 points. The win gave Triton four wins in their last five games heading into Tuesday's contest with Byron in Dodge Center.
