The Owatonna Parks and Rec are teaming with the Steele County Humane Society for Bark and Rec with treats, grooming and all doggy stuff in one place. It will be on Saturday, April 23, at the Steele County Fairgrounds in the Four Seasons Centre in Owatonna from 9AM to noon.

The humane society will have dogs there available for adoption.

You are welcome to bring your dog to the Bark and Rec to check out the local vendors. Just a reminder, all dogs that attend must be up to date on all vaccinations, including rabies, and on a leash.

Owatonna police department will have Kash, their K-9, there to do some demonstrations, and there will also be other demonstrations with dog obedience and agility.

If vendors with pet products would like to be in the Bark and Rec, just call the Owatonna Parks and Rec: 444-4321.

The Bark and Rec also includes a 5K Run/Walk on the same day beginning at 9AM. It will be held rain or shine. Preregister by April 15 to receive a t-shirt. All proceeds will go to both Steele County Humane Society and Owatonna Park and Rec.

The race fee is $20 for an individual, $30 for two adults older than 18 from the same household, or $50 for a family (two adults and four kids younger than 18 in the same household).

The Munchkin Market will also be on that day. Ages 6-15 will have items for sale. If you have would like to sell old toys or you have a something you have made call 444-4321 to reserve a booth. There will be other activities throughout the day also.
