Flag Day is Tuesday, June 14. The Owatonna Elks Lodge, 126 E. Vine St., will have a Flag Day ceremony at the lodge beginning at 7PM. A spaghetti supper will be served at 6PM. The dinner fee is a donation and is free for veterans. Call 451-1395 to reserve dinner.

The Flag Day ceremony will include the presentation of the flag with a bugler and color guard. Knights of Columbus choir will perform three or four songs.

The ceremony will also include the Knights of Columbus Knights presenting each of the eight flags from history up to and including our current flag with 50 stars. The Knights will be dressed according to the the time period of that flag.

The program will be about 45 minutes.

A reminder that damaged flags - whether faded, ripped or tattered - may be dropped off at any VFW or American Legion and they will properly dispose of the damaged flags in an honorable way. In Owatonna, the VFW address is 135 Oakdale St. and the American Legion address is 137 W. Broadway St.
