The Minnesota Department of Public Safety reports at least 380 traffic deaths in 2018. 358 died in traffic crashes in 2017. Breaking it down by month shows that October was the deadliest with 46 fatal crashes followed by September with 42. The month with the fewest traffic deaths was March with 18 followed by February with 19.

Over the traffic fatals in 2018, 100 were speed-related with at least 27 fatals involving distracted driving. 121 fatals were alcohol-related. 90 traffic victims were not wearing seat belts which is an increase from the 78 reported in 2017.

Among the actual traffic victims, 58 were motorcyclists, 7 were bicyclists,and 42 were pedestrians.
