Owatonna football is still alive in its quest for a second straight state championship. Medford volleyball is at state for the first time ever. Blooming Prairie, NRHEG and Waseca football are all continuing their seasons as well.

OHS plays at TCO Performance Center in Eagan Saturday, November 10 against Chaska at 12 pm with the coverage on KRFO AM 1390 and the KRFO app. The Huskies are spending some time this week practicing in Kasson, where they have an artificial turf.

Fans are reminded that tickets are only being sold in advance for the game at TCO. They can be purchased at the OHS main entrance on South Grove Street from 8:30 am to 3 pm through Friday as long as supplies last. Tickets are also available at the Knights of Columbus Hall 3:45 - 5 pm through Thursday. The cost is $11 for adults and $7 for students.

Medford's inaugural match at the state tournament will be against the two-time defending champ Mayer Lutheran at 3 pm Thursday, November 8 at Xcel Energy Center with coverage on KDHL AM 920 and the KDHL app. Win or lose their first match, they will play Friday at 3 pm as well. The Tigers must win at least once to advance to Saturday.

NRHEG is making their first state tournament trip as that cooperative. New Richland-Hartland won two state titles in the 1970's and reached state twice in the 1980's. Friday, November 9 the Panthers will try to snap Caledonia's 51-game winning streak that includes the last three state Class AA titles. The Panthers-Warriors game at 7 pm from Burnsville High School can be heard on Kat Kountry 105 FM and the Kat Kountry app.

Blooming Prairie is back at state for the first time since 2014 and the eighth time overall. They will battle fellow unbeaten United South Central Saturday, November 10 at 1 pm at New Ulm High School with the action on Kat Kountry 105 FM and the Kat Kountry app.

Waseca pulled off a couple of road upsets to reach the state tournament and will take on unbeaten Winona Friday, November 9 at 7 pm at Farmington High School.

All the football teams that win advance to US Bank Stadium for the semifinals November 15-17. The Prep Bowl is November 23-24.
