If you're part of a group that needs funds for improving or even constructing a trap, skeet, rifle, pistol or five-stand shooting range, grant funds are now available. The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources has announced the availability of $330,000 in shooting range grants. This money comes from a $2 million appropriation the state legislature made in 2015 for such purposes.

Those eligible for the grants are shooting clubs that allow members of the public to shoot at reasonable times and for a reasonable fee. These grants require a one-to-one match.

There are two levels of grants. The small grants are between $2,500 and $25,000. Large grants are above $25,000. All grantees must verify current female participation data.

To date grant dollars have been used as a part of 60 projects throughout Minnesota. More information is available at the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources web site.
