That phrase has struck horror in the hearts of children and teens everywhere, after all, who wants to go clean their room? Especially when it is more fun to lay around complaining of boredom? As you can tell I have a teen at home and this happens often.

As it turns out, today, May 10th, is National Clean Your Room Day. I don't know how well it will work to tell your kids you are celebrating the holiday, but, it's worth a shot. I doubt my teen falls for it, but, her room isn't as bad as her sister's use to be. We are talking garbage bag party time here, any parent understands that.

If your kids are bored, or if you want to get them to clean their rooms, just tell them all about this 'new' holiday, and see if that works. Let us know what works for getting your kids to clean their rooms.
