Owatonna Schools Will Offer Free Lunch to Children this Summer
The Owatonna public schools announce they will offer free lunch to all children up to age 18 this summer. The program begins Monday, June 5.
There are no income guidelines or cost to those up to age 18. Adults can also get a lunch for $3.85 and breakfast for $2.25. Daycare providers, grandparents and others are invited to take advantage of this service.
A hot lunch will be served at Owatonna High School at 333 E. School St. Monday through Thursday 12:15-12:45PM from June 5 through August 3. No lunch will be available on July 3-4. Enter through the School Street doors.
A sack lunch will be provided at the Owatonna Public Library at 105 N. Elm from 11:45AM-12:15PM from June 5 through August 10. There will be no lunch on July 3-4.
Wilson Elementary at 325 Meadow Lane will have breakfast available Monday through Thursday 8-8:30AM and a hot lunch 12:15-12:45PM July 10 through August 3.
Owatonna schools also recently announced new start times for this fall. Grades K-5 will have class 7:55AM-2:25PM. Grades 6-12 will attend class 8:10AM-2:40PM. The news release states, "The new school start times will improve the student experience and maximize programs."
