Owatonna High School's Brady Schuster will cap his prep career with an appearance at the Play Ball Minnesota All-Star Series June 22-23 at the Chaska Athletic Park. The just-graduated senior will play on the South team and participate in the home run derby.

Schuster was named the Huskies Player of the Year and Pitcher of the Year from the team's Big Nine Conference championship season. He tied for the team lead in pitching victories at five. He led the team with 24 RBI's and was second with three home runs. He will play college ball at Bethany Lutheran in Mankato.

The 44th annual all-star series begins with the home run derby at 11 am Friday, June 22 at Chaska Athletic Park. Among the other contestants is Nic Juaire from Section 1AAAA champion Lakeville North.

Games begin at 12:30 pm on Friday. Each team will play three times. The South team is scheduled to play Metro East at 5 pm Friday and Metro South at 9 am Saturday, June 23. They will also play a placing round game on Saturday. All games are at the Chaska Athletic Park.

Nine Big Nine players were named to the South all-stars. That includes Teddy Tauer (Red Wing), Easton Gamoke (Winona), Jordan Wright (Century), Kip Gronholz (John Marshall), Alex Prindle (Mayo), Sam Warren (Mayo) and alternates Jack Dankert (Austin) and Sterling Homard (Century).

Players will also take part in a service project.
