Brad Meier of the Owatonna Chamber made his regular monthly appearance on AM1390's Talk of the Town. He gave us an update on business additions and planned expansions in Owatonna.

The proposed Costco Distribution Center that is planned for the Industrial Park off SW 39th Avenue continues. There are still steps to be taken to ensure the projection becomes a reality. Plans are for a 385,000 square foot building that will serve as a distribution site for the Twin Cities Costco stores. This project could create  somewhere in the range of 200 jobs.

Expansions include Daikan looking at the possible expansion of a warehouse building just to the east of the current plant. This would free up room in the plant for more manufacturing.

Revol Greens of Medford that produces lettuce is in the process of adding another 7 acres of green houses.

Bushel Boy is under construction for an expansion. There is also a company called Rise Modular moving into the former Chart building across the Interstate from the Owatonna Country Club. They build pre fab apartment buildings which they then truck out and assemble on various sites. This move is expect to create around 80 jobs.
