Owatonna Basketball Roars by Albert Lea
Owatonna's boys' and girls' basketball team left little doubt about the outcome of Friday night's games by building huge first half leads in each case. The OHS boys won 73-25 at home for their seventh straight victory. The girls won at Albert Lea 76-43.
The Huskies' boys forced nearly 40 turnovers. Nolan Malo led in scoring with 15 points. Jason Williamson had 14 including a two-handed dunk. Dalton Kubista scored 12 and Alex Raichle added 11. Owatonna led 43-13 at the half. Albert Lea did not have a player in double figures. Owatonna backed off on the defense in the second half and emptied the bench. Bria Wachowiak scored 13 and Jenna Zeman had 11. The night was Albert Lea's "Hoops for Hope" fundraiser for the Freeborn County Relay for Life.
