Owatonna's Abigail Hansen will perform a harp concert Friday, December 30, at the Owatonna Arts Center. It begins at 7:30PM.

Hansen will play a 45-minute concert of holiday and classical music. She has played at Orchestra Hall in Minneapolis and Fitzgerald Theater in St. Paul. Hansen recorded a selection at the Minnesota Public Radio studio that was used on air.

Hansen is enrolled for her senior year at Shattuck-St. Mary's School in Faribault in order to focus more on playing the harp. In October she was named the Distinguished Young Woman of Minnesota for 2017. The program is part of a national scholarship program that rewards women for their academic success, leadership and talent.

There is no charge to attend Friday's concert and it is open to the public. The event was originally scheduled for December 16 but was postponed due to the weather.

The current exhibit on display through December 30 at the Owatonna Arts Center is called It's Christmas and features a Nativity scene, ornaments and Santa. Gallery hours are 1-5PM Tuesday through Sunday.
