One of Owatonna's real treasures, the State School Orphanage will have an Open House on Saturday, September 15 from 1-5PM. Former State Schooler's have been invited back for the event. Personalized tours of the Museum and Cottage 11 will be available.

A number of authors will be hand to talk to and with books for sale. Also an old film shot around 1930 on the grounds of the orphanage will be offered in DVD format on Saturday.

The Children Remembered-Orphanage Legacy Trust has a goal of $300,000 and is currently at around $58,000. Donations will be welcome. The trust fund is to be used for a foundation to keep the Orphanage Museum and Cottage in operation along with preserving historic records and provide touring educational opportunities.

Admission to the grounds is free.
