The Minnesota Volleyball Coaches Association second in-season poll has Northfield on top in the biggest schools Class 4A.

Class 2A #2 ranked Zumbrota-Mazeppa dropped two spots after suffering a loss to Cannon Falls and surviving a five set scare at Medford last week.

Cannon Falls moved up one spot following wins against Waterville-Elysian-Morristown and Zumbrota-Mazeppa.  Both matches were on the road.

Faribault Bethlehem Academy is still #3 in Class 1A after playing against bigger schools in a tournament over the weekend with losses to Class 3A ranked New Prague and Class 4A rated East Ridge and Rochester Mayo.

The Cardinals have a rematch with the team they defeated in last year's Class 1A Section title match Kenyon-Wanamingo Tuesday night on KDHL Radio, 920 AM, 97.9 FM and Free KDHL app.  Coverage begins 7:00 p.m. for the varsity match it if is on time.

Kenyon-Wanamingo dropped from #7 to #6 in Class 1A without losing but did drop a set to Randolph in their 4 set victory last week.

1A top ranked Mayer Lutheran swept Bethlehem Academy last week, steps up the competition this week with a match against #6 Class 2A Southwest Christian and a trip to a tournament in Farmington this weekend.

Section 1 Class A continues to be well represented in the poll with Bethlehem Academy #3, Mabel-Canton #5, Kenyon-Wanamingo #7, Spring Grove #9.

Zumbrota-Mazeppa did receive a couple first place votes in Class 2A despite their home loss to Cannon Falls last week.  Fellow Section 1 opponent Caledonia is rated #9.

Hiawatha-Valley-League powers Kasson-Mantorville, Byron and Stewartville are in the top 4 of the Class 3A rankings.  the KoMets received a first place vote.  Byron and Stewartville are tied at #4.  They collide Tuesday night in Byron.

New Prague is #10 in Class 3A.

The Northfield Raiders have defeated every team on their schedule to date to get to their 9-0 record including a few South Suburban Conference teams like #3 Class 4A Lakeville North, #10 Class 4A Lakeville South, Eagan and Farmington.  They also beat #7 Chaska.

Rosemount is #8 in the state's largest schools class.  Rochester Mayo fell out of the top 10 to Also Receiving Votes and so did Rochester Mayo.
