Mary Groth Turns 80
Tuesday night Ellendale was hopping as longtime business owner Mary Groth celebrated her 80th birthday. We've been able to snare a few photos from the event and here they are..
Mary's husband, Paul, was surprised to receive a visit from his late uncle and aunt Gus and Hilda. They were long-time operators of Gus's Station, which is now at the Steele County Historical Society. They received a special one-hour pass to return to Earth. Hilda said they were in a rush and apparently got their outfits mixed up en route.
Gus said he enjoyed wearing a dress. After eating he had enough dropped food in his lap that he didn't need to go back for seconds. Wearing a skirt is economical.
Mary and Paul Groth were longtime owner/operators of Groth Furniture on top of the hill in Ellendale.
