The Faribault Bethlehem Academy Cardinals girls basketball team led Kenyon-Wanamingo 21-18 at the half but the Knights won the game 44-36.

Both teams ran similar defenses throughout the game.  The difference was Kenyon-Wanamingo's ability to attack the basket better.  They had 14 points in the paint in the second half.

The Cardinals had just 4 points in the paint in the second half after they scored 14 of their 21 first half points in the paint.

The Held Bus Service of Kenyon Knights of the Game were junior 5'8 Tessa Erlandson with 18 points and senior 5'10 Stella Rechtzigel with 14.

The Malecha's Auto Body Faribault Players of the Game were senior Mercedes Huerta and junior Lindsay Hanson each with 9 points to lead the BA offense.

Our Cashwise Foods and Pharmacy Delivery of the Game was awarded to 5'6 sophmore Josie Flom of K-W for knocking down two three point baskets in the Knights second half comeback.

After going 4 for 4 at the free throw line in the first half the Cardinals were 1 of 3 in the second half.  5 of 7 for the game.

The Knights were 3 of 12 from the free throw line in the first half and 4 of 6 in the second half.  7 of 18 for the game.

Both teams had a number of turnovers but there were not a lot of points scored by either team off those miscues.  A number of times a turnover by one team would result in a turnover by the other team.

Turnover totals were 15 for Bethlehem Academy, 13 for Kenyon-Wanamingo.

The loss dropped the Cardinals to 2-4 overall, 0-3 in Gopher Conference action.

With the win K-W is 2-2 in the league and 2-4 overall.

BA hosts Alden-Conger/Glenville-Emmons Thursday night.
