Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - Minnesota Governor Mark Dayton is scheduled to have his prostate removed Thursday at Mayo Clinic.

He announced in January that Mayo Clinic doctors had determined he had prostate cancer and that he decided to have the gland removed rather than undergo radiation treatment. After the cancer was diagnosed, Dayton said his doctors had told him the cancer was treatable and curable.

He expects to be discharged Friday and has said that he will resume his duties next Monday, either at his Capitol office or the governor's mansion.
