Bloomington’s Water Park of America Set to Close
It was recently reported that Bloomington's Water Park of America will be closing at the end of the month. This fun family staycation destination has served as a great way to take a break from the winter cold and snow for a weekend of slip sliding fun for several years now or an exciting way to wrap up a day of shopping for visitors that travel to Minnesota to check out the Mall of America.
Fortunately for those that have made it a yearly tradition to visit the water park it will soon be reopened. It has been purchased by Great Wolf Resorts of Madison, Wis. According to their website, "Great Wolf Resorts Inc. is the parent company of Great Wolf Lodge, North America’s largest family of indoor water park resorts. Great Wolf Lodge offers popular, award-winning vacation experiences that celebrate relaxed, uninterrupted time with family and create unforgettable memories."
They are planning to remodel their newest acquisition with a ropes course, a rock wall and a bowling alley. They'll also be changing the name to Great Wolf Lodge. Visitors to Wisconsin Dells will recognize that name, as their flagship resort is located there under that same name.
If you plan on staying there this weekend you'd better hurry. They will stop taking reservations as of February 1.
