A southern Minnesota woman will appear in a Florida courtroom Wednesday, October 31 on first-degree murder charges in the death of a Florida woman. Fifty-six-year-old Lois Riess is accused of killing 59-year-old Pamela Hutchinson in order to steal her identity according to a story posted by the Star Tribune.

Riess has pleaded not guilty to a variety of charges stemming from fleeing across the country after the shooting death of her husband, David, in rural Blooming Prairie in late March. Minnesota charges, in that case, are still pending, although she has been charged in Dodge County with forging checks from her husband's business account.

The report indicates that Florida authorities have collected many pieces of evidence from a Florida hotel room when they allege Riess killed Hutchinson in early April.

Riess was apprehended in Texas in mid-April after having used Hutchinson's credit card, ending a nationwide search.
