26th Street Improvement Study Open House Thursday, Feb. 12 In Owatonna

Steele County will host its final public open house to present preliminary recommendations through the Highway 34 / 26th Street Northwest traffic and infrastructure improvements needs study.

These recommendations address current and future safety and mobility issues on three miles of 26th Street Northwest in Owatonna, from 24th Avenue Northwest on the west to Highway 8 / Kenyon Road on the east. The study team will also present an implementation plan to coordinate improvement projects to be planned over the next 15 years.

The open house will be Thursday, Feb. 12 at Mayo Clinic Health System in Owatonna (2200 N.W. 26th St.) from 5-7 p.m. A formal presentation will begin at 5:30 p.m. Please use the main clinic parking lot and entrance.

The study will be completed soon after the open house as the project team completes the study report and presents findings to the Steele County Board for approval.
