Last year the Cannon Falls Bombers rolled over Zumbrota-Mazeppa 24-6. This year the Cougars come out with a win, thanks to three keys: Isaiah Stueber, Jacob Neibuhr and Robvon Jackson.

Cannon Falls was on the board first, but not until 59 seconds to go in the first quarter, when quarterback Chase Reber connected with Jake Christiansen, and Andrew Egge got the extra point to make it 7-0. Early in the second, Mason Hofsted had a 4-yard touchdown run and Egge's kick was no good this time, that made it 13-0. Then Isaiah Stueber connected with Jacob Neibuhr for the first of three touchdowns that Jacob had, the extra point failed and the score was 13-6. The bombers moved the ball back down field and turned the ball over to the Cougars. Shortly after, Robvon Jackson went 40 yards for a touchdown, the extra point failed and it was 13-12 Cannon Falls.

With 6:27 to go in the third, Chase Reber threw to Carlton Lindow for a score and Egge made the kick and it was 20-12 Cannon Falls. Then Stueber and Neibuhr connected two more times in the fourth at 10:27 and 3:33 to seal it for the Cougars, 24-10.

Stueber and Neibuhr were our Lyle Wendroth State Farm Insurance agent players of the game for Zumbrota-Mazeppa.

The Cougars will host Triton next Friday and the bombers face Plainview-Elgin-Millville.
