You Could be Steely or Stella at the Steele County Fair
How would you like to have the run of the Steele County Fair and be the subject of countless high fives and photo requests? The Steele County Fair is seeking interested people to don the costume and help continue the tradition at the fair.
Just imagine the fun of being on the fairgrounds with all the eyes on you, yet being anonymous. You could jive to the music and no one would care if you danced poorly. Kids, young and old, enjoy interacting with the mascots. Contact the fair office for details at 507-451-5305.
The fair board also announces they are accepting donations to fund a memorial bench to honor longtime fair staff member Sharon Stark who passed away in May. Donations can be submitted to the fair office. Stark had requested a bench be placed in her honor near the Muckle Museum.
Autocross in coming to the fair grandstand on Thursday, August 16 at 6:30 pm. Autocross is a competition where drivers navigate through an obstacle course. Tickets are $13 for adults and $10 for kids. The same company that presents the demo derby Sunday, August 19 will put on the new event.
KRFO radio presents 'Fair Talk' each Thursday at 9:40 am leading up to the fair, brought to you by Specialty Personnel / Wencl Accounting and Tax Service, Cash Wise Foods and Tony's Flooring on the KRFO app and on-air at AM 1390. Dates for the 2018 Steele County Fair are August 14-19.
