United Way of Steele County Nears Campaign Goal
The United Way of Steele County indicated Wednesday that they have nearly reached their $700,000 goal for the 2017 program year.
In a tweet on their Twitter account, the United Way of Steele County stated, "We're almost there! 99% of our 2016 campaign goal - we need $8,400 to reach the finish line."
The United Way of Steele County will fund more than 20 programs in 2017 that support families, seniors and youth. Local nonprofits that will benefit include the Steele County Food Shelf, the Clothesline, Transitional Housing of Steele County, Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Southern Minnesota, Crisis Resource Center, Boys and Girls Club of Blooming Prairie, Cedar Valley Services, Exchange Club Center for Family Unity, Healthy Seniors, Free Clinic of Steele County, Children's Remedial Fund, SEMCAC, Somali American Cultural Society of Owatonna, Southern Minnesota Regional Legal Services, Let's Smile and South Central Human Services.
The United Way of Steele County also partners with the SAC program in the Owatonna School District, Tiger Club in the Medford School District, SMART Transit for preschool transportation and Salvation Army's Boots to Work program.
