I thought I had stumbled upon a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. A fire truck rally at the Steele County Fairgrounds. A representative with sponsoring company Pierce Manufacturing said trucks were on display and available to take for a test drive. But only for firefighters. I have used a fire extinguisher a couple of times. Not good enough. Well, it is still fun to look at fire trucks.

An Owatonna Fire Department vehicle was on display, but none of the other vehicles had a city designation. The sales rep said these types of displays are held all over and bring in members of fire departments from neighboring communities.
