The Owatonna School District is seeking public input to help guide decisions and actions that will shape the organization. Through community focus groups, open forums and social media the district is reaching out for public opinion. In their periodic e-newsletter, the district announces a community forum for Tuesday, April 17 at the Owatonna High School small group forum from 6-7PM.

The district invites residents to follow them on Twitter and Facebook for another way to interact and share their feelings. Recently the district tweeted the question, "Why do Owatonna schools exist?" Among the answers were, "Education is our largest responsibility," and "To serve all citizens regardless of age."

Superintendent Jeff Elstad states in the newsletter, "Your ideas and opinions are essential in the planning process. We thank you in advance for your time and insights. Look for more information coming out in July regarding our findings and next steps to continuously keep the Owatonna School District moving forward."
