Superheroes Unite for Miracle Owatonna Cause
Fast as an October wind, able to leap high in a bounce house, Superwoman and Superman made an appearance at the We All Play BBQ hosted by Hy-vee Foods at the Steele County Fairgrounds October 6 to benefit the Miracle Field and inclusive playground project for Owatonna.
The hero-themed event included multiple Batman characters, a buff Captain America and a family of three Incredible's. It didn't take super-Spidey senses to smell the chicken Hyvee had roasting on the outdoor grill. Store Director Ryan Evers reported that about 400 meals were sold during the day-long event. He looks forward to it growing in the future.
The morning activities included a bounce house, superhero mask making, an obstacle course and other yard games. A short fun run was held with runners getting a medal.
We All Play organizers are working with Chubb's BBQ event October 13 at the fairgrounds as another fundraiser for the playground and Miracle Field ball diamond project for Manthey Park.
