The Steele County Blades junior hockey team scored a pair of wins over the weekend at the Four Seasons Centre in Owatonna, beating Hudson 6-4 and the Minnesota Mullets 3-2 in a shootout. The Blades are 5-2 over their last seven games.

Steele County beat Hudson Friday night with six players notching goals. Santeri Piha and Kory Potach put the Blades up 2-0. Hudson scored just before intermission to make it 2-1. Antonio Najera and Cody Arbelovsky scored 18 seconds apart early in the second for a 4-1 lead. Hudson answered with a pair of goals to pull within 4-3 after two periods.

Steele County started the third with Kyle Wadden and Jake Freise scoring 47 seconds apart to go up 6-3. The Havoc rounded out the scoring midway through the third. Steele County out shot Hudson 34-25. Brendan Crayne improved to 3-0 in goal.

On Sunday, Steele County came back from a 1-0 and 2-1 deficit to beat the Mullets 3-2 in a shootout. Wadden evened the game late in the third period and scored in the final round of the shootout to lift the Blades to their fifth victory over the last seven games.

Steele County plays at the Minnesota Moose Friday, November 24 and hosts the Moose on Saturday, November 25 at 7:30PM at the Four Seasons Centre.
