I'm not sure what the medical terminology would be, but my racing fever can only be solved in person, and luckily Elko Speedway just revealed their 2021 racing calendar for all to see. Race season is expected to get underway June 5th with the Bandit Series, there is an "Evening of Destruction" event scheduled for May 29th, but that has an asterisk on it.

Elko Speedway, located pretty much off I-35 in Elko New Market, is entering into another season of racing this year, one year removed from a short season due to COVID. The calendar released on their Facebook page shows 8 race series and 9 Evenings of Destruction on the books for the 2021 year.

The first event of the year, scheduled to be an Evening of Destruction, is slated for May 29th, but that has been also marked as a tentative date for this year.

According to the ELKO website, they "no longer have track cars available for rental, but if you want the experience of driving on the track you can enter spectator drags on Eve of Destruction nights." If you want to race at ELKO on the EoD nights "You must show up before 5:30pm and sign all the necessary waivers and purchase a $45 pit pass which will allow you access to the pits, this pass acts as your ticket to the track as well. (Helmets mandatory, must supply own helmet)."

Should be a fun year, with more and more people being vaccinated one can hope that we see a return to 100% capacity outdoor events, like auto racing, as we get back to normal. I for one could use some race therapy, and it appears the end of May might be my first appointment.
