Section 2AA: Kenyon-Wanamingo 43, Medford 24

On Sept. 30, the Kenyon-Wanamingo Knights put a damper on Medford's homecoming by defeating them 47-0. Even thought the Tigers had a lot of offensive yards, they could not get any points on the board.

Tuesday night, the teams met again, this time at the moat in Kenyon. The Tigers racked up 400 yards in offense, Javis VonRuden throwing for four touchdowns and 346 yards. It was rainy and windy and the Tigers were not going to go quietly into that good night.

It was 21-6 Kenyon at the half, then Kenyon scored again in the third to make it 28-6. Then The Tigers got it in gear. VonRuden had gotten hurt late in the first half. But he came out and by the time we were into the first minute of the fourth quarter it was 28-24 K-W. Steberg iced it for the Knights as he ran for two more TDs in the fourth to make the final 43-24.

The Knights are going to face either NRHEG or WEM on Monday night in Kenyon. That game ended with 1:31 to go on Tuesday night due to lightning and was to be decided Wednesday. The next round was originally going to be played Saturday night but was moved to Monday due to the day delay. Another game between Blue Earth and Lake Crystal-Wellcome-Memorial was also delayed until Wednesday night.
